Astronomy.SG will be hosting a night of fun as they bring their equipment to the 11th floor rooftop of Gain City Megastore @ Sungei Kadut to celebrate this year’s Mid Autumn Festival. With over $2000 of equipment, don’t miss this rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the full moon and learn more about the story of Chang’e and Hou Yi. You’ll be able to observe features of the moon as small as several hundred meters across, from almost 380,000km away. These specialised pieces of equipment are rare, so do come down to partake in the festivities as we celebrate this Mid Autumn Festival with Astronomy.SG!

Come quickly and join us for a unique opportunity to experience the majesty of the full moon in spectacular detail, with your own eyes!

Want to know more about our Moon? As the Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner (22nd September this year), volunteers from Stargazing Singapore will talk about the cultural and scientific aspects of the Moon. A general description of the night sky this month will be discussed as well. Join us in being captivated by the majesty of the Full Moon!

Observe planets, stars and the mid-autumn Moon through telescopes. Take photos of a magnified Moon with your mobile phone. Learn more about amateur astronomy from the friendly telescope volunteers.

Event is weather dependent and may be cancelled last minute due to bad weather.
